‘Drašković and Nikola VII Zrinski: Trakošćan and Klenovnik 1645–1651’

How did one marriage influence the short-term change in ownership of the castles of Klenovnik and Trakošćan?

In 1645, the marriage of the prominent Nikola VII Zrinski and Euzebija Drašković led to a brief change in ownership of Trakošćan and Klenovnik, which subsequently came into the possession of the Zrinski family.

What exactly was happening in Trakošćan and Klenovnik between 1645 and 1651? And what role did Nikola VII Zrinski play in this story?

The answers will be presented by Prof. Dr. Hrvoje Petrić at the lecture:

‘Drašković and Nikola VII Zrinski: Trakošćan and Klenovnik 1645–1651’, which will take place on Saturday, 22 August 2026, starting at 6:00 PM in the multipurpose hall of the castle.

The lecture will present the latest findings resulting from Professor Hrvoje Petrić’s long-term research. Admission to the lecture is free of charge.

Prof. Dr. Hrvoje Petrić is a Full Professor at the Department of History at the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences, University of Zagreb, and an Associate Member of the Department of Social Sciences of the Croatian Academy of Sciences and Arts (HAZU).
